Helping People

Every day literally millions of people need help getting out of bed. Some are hospital patients, some live in retirement and nursing accommodation, many live in their own homes.

For the carer who has to help someone repeatedly out of bed, back injury is a constant concern, affecting 10% of all nurses. Ideally two or three carers should work together, but this is not always possible.

The Unmet Need

Basic hoists do exist for helping carers, but these are time consuming to set up, requiring slings to be manually passed under the body and attached to a lifting frame. Many people find it undignified to be lifted by a hoist, and accidents can occur if the slings are not correctly positioned.

Our Product

The LiftMate ® provides a simple to use, safe and dignified solution to the problem of personal lifting and transfer. Using Liftmate, a single carer can collect the person they are helping from a bed and transfer them safely to a chair, examination couch or other piece of furniture.
